Our double insulated, high voltage ground cable for underground and above ground connection of the pasture fence equipment to the pasture fence and the ground stake. From a required cable length of more than 100 m, you should choose a cable with a wire core diameter of 2.5 mm.

Wire Gauge Selection for Electric Fencing

 

Most electric fences use 14 or 17 gauge wire depending on how long the fence is and what animal is being contained or repelled. Keep in mind that the lower the gauge of wire, the thicker the wire will be. Animals that you may want a larger gauge for include some of the larger animals like cows, bulls/bison, sheep goats, and other predators. Smaller gauge tends to lend better to smaller animals like pets, poultry and nuisance animals as well.
